Elite Israeli High School Students Oppose Army Service over Judicial Reform

A gaggle of about 200 college students, led by activists on the elite Gymnasia High School in Herzliya, Israel, signed a petition refusing to be drafted into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) over judicial reform and the Palestinian battle.
The college students, who would usually be part of the IDF after commencement, have joined about 10,000 reservists who’ve refused to point out up for voluntary obligation in protest in opposition to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial reform.
The protest is important due to the central position the IDF performs in Israeli society, and since the scholars included the Palestinian subject of their petition, which leaders of the anti-reform motion have tried to keep away from.
