Piece of Berlin Wall Placed in Mexico near U.S. Border Barrier as ‘Message’

Mexican officers in Tijuana positioned a three-ton part of the previous Berlin Wall near the U.S. border with a message to “build a society that knocks down walls and builds bridges.” The message ignores the stark distinction in objective between the 2 obstacles.

A plaque on the wall phase donated by the Falling Walls Foundation bears a message from Mayor Caballero which reads, in half, “”May this be a lesson to construct a society that knocks down partitions and builds bridges,” Fox News reported.
Mayor Caballero acknowledged the distinction in objective of the 2 partitions. “The social and political conflict is different than the Berlin Wall, but it’s a wall at the end of the day,” the Tijuana mayor mentioned.
The mayor added that she respects the concept the U.S. should implement its personal borders. She then added that the U.S. border wall represents “violence” and “family separation.”
